SDM: UKIArray: Geophysical Instrumentation | Non-Fellow Ticket

Recent expansions in British and Irish collections of seismic sensors have enabled the possibility of a community-wide, dense deployment of geophysical and seismological instruments, to which non-seismological instruments might be added. This 'UKI-Array' could achieve a dense coverage (inter-sensor spacing ~6 km), supporting high-resolution imaging and research into geohazards, subsurface resources, net-zero goals and curiosity-driven investigations of the subsurface.

This specialist meeting will bring together academic and industrial stakeholders to coordinate action from our community, specifically to define UKI-Array’s scientific objectives, implementation and funding strategies.

We invite abstracts for short pitches of project ideas (in a lightning-style format), covering topics such as (but not limited to): array design, data management, analytical methods, instrumentation synergies, logistics, industrial collaboration, funding routes and public engagement. We also anticipate panel and breakout discussions.
